July 8, 2005

43,000 Cases of Canned Drinking Water Shipped to Florida Wholesalers

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (July 8, 2005) – To prepare for potential needs, Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. has donated more than 43,000 cases of canned drinking water to relief efforts in the southeast for Hurricane Dennis.

Shipments will be delivered this weekend to Anheuser-Busch wholesalers Eagle Brands in Miami; City Beverage in Orlando; and The Lewis Bear Company in Pensacola, to be ready when it is needed. A shipment of 10,780 cases is scheduled to arrive at Suncoast Beverage in Fort Meyers early next week. If needed, that water will be distributed by the American Red Cross and other relief agencies.

“No matter when and where disaster strikes, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers are always among the first on the scene, helping our neighbors get back on their feet,” said Mike Harding, vice president of operations for Anheuser-Busch. “It’s important for communities to pull together and lend a helping hand in times of need and Anheuser-Busch is proud to provide fresh water to those who may be affected by Hurricane Dennis.”

The water was canned at the Anheuser-Busch Cartersville, Ga., brewery and Metal Container Corp. in Rome, Ga., a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch Cos., supplied the cans. The delivery of the water is being made possible by several independent carriers.

Helping communities cope with natural disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support, Anheuser-Busch breweries package fresh drinking water and donate it to emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need. In the past five years, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 46 million cans of water to victims of natural disasters.

Based in St. Louis, Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. is an American-owned, diversified corporation with subsidiaries that include the leading American brewer, family entertainment parks and one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of aluminum beverage containers. In a survey of 10,000 business leaders and securities analysts, Anheuser-Busch ranked first overall in quality of products and services among nearly 600 companies researched in FORTUNE magazine’s 2004 “America’s Most Admired Companies” listing.
