STURGIS, S.D. (Aug. 3, 2007) – Sturgis will be rockin’ and rollin’ when the boys from Budweiser Racing – Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brandon Bernstein and Jeff Clark – take the stage during the "Bud Racing One Night Stand," highlighting Budweiser’s week-long presence at the 67th Annual Black Hills Motor Classic.
Dale Jr., Brandon and Jeff will be hangin’ with rally goers at 9 p.m., Weds., Aug. 8, riffing about everything from riding bikes to rubbin’ fenders to pullin’ five Gs down the quarter-mile. Hosted by ESPN's Marty Smith, the Bud Racing boys will swap stories and take questions submitted by the crowd before handing the stage over to Velvet Revolver at 10:30 p.m. During the show, Clark will present Bernstein with an NHRA Bud King Racing dragster-themed V-twin custom cycle from Clark’s shop, The Cycle Exchange.
Budweiser, the "Official Beer Sponsor" of the 2007 Black Hills Motor Classic, brings some horsepower of a different nature to Sturgis with the return of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, as well as the Budweiser Burnout Bike, Dale Jr. Experience and custom Sturgis Rally Budweiser packaging. Anheuser-Busch also reaffirms its commitment to the community and responsibility through the Green Teams, Safe Ride program, and as presenting sponsor of the annual Kids & Chrome benefit event.
“Budweiser is a proud partner of motorcycle enthusiasts and the nation’s great motorcycle rallies, including the Black Hills Motor Classic,” said Randall Blackford, director of Budweiser Marketing, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. “The Bud Racing One Night Stand event is going to be incredible, and we hope the Budweiser Burnout Bike, Budweiser Clydesdales, Dale Jr. Experience and collectible Budweiser packaging will add some fun to the week for rally-goers.”
Sturgis Collectible Packaging
Budweiser invites Sturgis rally-goers to “Cool Your Pipes” with a collectible Black Hills Motor Classic 12-ounce can and sleek, 16-ounce aluminum bottle available throughout the region. Case cartons also feature the Budweiser “Cool Your Pipes” biker logo. A limited supply of 55,000 cases of Budweiser Sturgis packaging will be distributed in the region.
Budweiser Clydesdales
The world’s most famous source of raw horsepower is the fan-favorite Budweiser Clydesdales. The "Gentle Giants" will be on display at the Glencoe CampResort and appear at select bars and restaurants in the greater Sturgis area throughout the week.
Kids & Chrome
Budweiser is a presenting sponsor of the third annual Kids & Chrome benefit, to support the Children’s Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame. These organizations have been established to help children’s charities in the Black Hills, and to preserve the history of motorcycling in Sturgis. This year’s event will take place on Aug. 8 at the Black Hills Convention Center in Spearfish. The event raised more than $600,000 in 2006.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Experience
"The Dale Jr. Experience" is an exciting, interactive mobile exhibit designed specifically for adult consumers to experience an insider’s look at NASCAR and Budweiser #8 driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Also on hand at The Experience and touring Sturgis during the week is an authentic Dale Earnhardt Jr. show car. “The Dale Jr. Experience” located at 1111 Lazelle Street on Aug. 4 - 14 is free of charge, and guests must be at least 21-years-old.
Budweiser Burnout Bike
Jeff Clark has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages as a pit stop engine tuner and gasman for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s #8 Budweiser Chevrolet. Clark’s latest masterpiece combines his passions for NASCAR and motorcycles into the Budweiser Burnout Bike, a custom-built chopper that uses an authentic, five-bolt Goodyear NASCAR NEXTEL Cup rear tire. After the Budweiser Burnout Bike shreds the rear tire, a "pit crew" races in to change the tire in less than five seconds to put the bike back on the track. The Budweiser Burnout Bike can be experienced at area retail accounts.
Bud Light MXT
The Bud Light MXT is a new attraction offering a unique experience including state-of-the art technology: three 32" flat panel screens and a thumping sound system and Bud Light Mindball© programming. Mindball is an interactive program where two players control a ball with their brain waves. Guests 21 years and older can visit the Bud Light MXT at various retail accounts throughout Sturgis.
Recycling
Anheuser-Busch Recycling Corporation (A-BRC) is teaming up with Glencoe CampResort, Ace Steel and Recycling and Eagle Sales Distributing for the second consecutive year to help bikers recycle during Sturgis Bike Week. Last year, Glencoe campers recycled more than 5,000 pounds of aluminum that generated more than $2,600 in proceeds for the Greater Sturgis Lifecare Foundation. A-BRC is expanding the recycling effort in 2007 to include the campsites at Buffalo Chip. The expanded effort will require 200 Budweiser recycling bins and 30,000 bags will be used to help collect beverage containers from 20,000 campsites.
Clean Teams
Anheuser-Busch’s environmental partner, Living Lands and Waters, will be serving as the Budweiser Clean Team and assisting each camp resort’s maintenance staff with the collection of used beverage containers from campsites. The Budweiser Clean Team will also promote recycling as they walk through the campgrounds by rewarding bikers who are “caught” recycling. Clean Teams help event organizers promote positive individual behavior and community pride while maintaining a litter-free environment by recycling beverage containers.
Safe Ride
Anheuser-Busch and Eagle Sales will continue their industry-leading role in fighting drunk driving and promoting responsibility by conducting the "Safe Ride" program at company-sponsored events and retail accounts during the 2007 Black Hills Motor Classic. Eagle Sales has partnered with Da Bus and area retailers to provide a free “Safe Ride” home to adults who may have had too much to drink. Information on the "Safe Ride" program and all of Anheuser-Busch’s responsibility programs will be available at the Consumer Affairs & Education booth within the "Dale Jr. Experience" at 1111 Lazelle Street.
